I am in independent Integrative Psychotherapist working within Hertfordshire Therapy Centre, Welwyn Garden City.
I have over 14 years experience in the 'caring' profession working in a variety of settings with a range of clients.
I believe in working holistically, working with you as a client, rather than separating you from your issues. My experience as an Integrative Psychotherapist allows me to use a variety of therapeutic techniques in our sessions. The benefit of this for you together we can work through your issues in the best way for you.
I am an accredited member of The National Counselling Society which is accredited by the Government Voluntary Registers Scheme. I am also a member of The Hypnobirthing Association.
I studied with The University of Hertfordshire for 5 years, completing an honors degree in Sociology and Social Policy followed by a Diploma in Social Work. I then went on to spend 3 years studying with Chrysalis Courses where I completed my Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy for which I received a Distinction.
I believe in the need for continued professional development, and so have completed courses in nutrition, hypnobirthing, NLP, Mindfulness, PTSD and obesity and over eating as well as carrying out research into Post Natal Depression.
After suffering Post-Natal Depression I founded Butterflies Community in 2012. I lead group therapy sessions for Butterflies on a voluntary basis and manage a small volunteer team which enables us to provide free support for women struggling with motherhood.
I have more recently set up an affordable counselling practice, again working with a team of volunteers to ensure that those with financial constraints have access to good quality counselling.
And finally I run a peer support group for counsellors and therapists. The aim of this group is to share our knowledge and support one another so that we can provide the best possible support for our clients.
